Our Ushuaia stop-over days are perfect for travelers with a love of food, wine, culture and the outdoors. Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, outpost at the bottom of the world, offers an array of outdoor activities including hiking and bird watching. The local fishing is excellent (book ahead!) and the town center is great for shopping. Our Explorer Dinner takes place at Kaupe Restaurant, home to recognized Chef, Ernesto Vivian. High above the town, with an unforgettable view of the Beagle Channel, Kaupe's hospitality is equal to their cuisine…incredible.

This dining event takes place overlooking the scenic Beagle Channel and offers a variety of local dishes including King Crab and Chilean Sea Bass along with several tastings of excellent Argentine wines. Kaupe means "to be at home" and this dinner is just that. The hospitality, service, and fare are of the highest calibre.

Itinerary for Ushuaia, Argentina Travel Days

The following is included:

Day 1

Upon arrival at the airport in Ushuaia, we transfer by bus to our hotel nestled in the mountains overlooking the Beagle Channel. Our guides accompany the bus and give an informal talk on this unique city and its fascinating history. There are several opportunities available for the afternoon. The nearby lakes, rivers, and mountains offer terrific walking, hiking, and fishing. The town center has a number of cafes and shopping. Our guides are available throughout the day and can assist with arranging these activities.

Evening and Dinner

Fathom Expeditions' exclusive Explorer Dinner is hosted at Kaupe Restaurant, home of recognized chef Ernesto Vivian. Day 2

Today, we have the morning and early afternoon free to enjoy Ushuaia. A guided bus tour of the nearby National Park will be offered along with several other exciting activities including walks into the mountains, Land Rover tours of nearby forests and lakes, and last minute shopping in the city. At 4 p.m. we board our expedition ship and settle in for our voyage to Antarctica.
