2007 ANTARCTIC EXPEDITIONS

Over the past ten years, we have led many voyages on a dozen ice-rated expedition ships covering the full range of size and styles. In keeping with the desire of the company to provide the highest standard of small-ship expedition cruising, we decided to run our 2005/2006 program aboard the M/V EXPLORER.

For the 2007 season, we chose the M/V Professor Molchanov. The "Molchanov" was built in Finland in 1982-83 for polar and oceanographic research and carries a maximum of 48 passengers in comfortable outside-facing cabins. With an ice-strengthened hull and passive stabilizers it is able to navigate scenic areas for smooth sailing where many other vessels cannot.

We hand-pick our ships just as we do the expedition leaders and lecturer team and as a result, we have created an unbeatable combination. It is no wonder National Geographic chose FATHOM EXPEDITIONS’ Spirit of Shackleton Voyage as the best Antarctic trip in the world. We look forward to seeing you onboard.
